Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iwan Kurojebow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kingston Pauletty! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pauletty misses with a left hand and Kurojebow counters with a straight right hand. Kurojebow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Pauletty. No joy for Kurojebow on that attempt. Pauletty misses with a body shot.
Pauletty misses the shot to the body. A slapping body kick lands there for Kurojebow. Pauletty drops Kurojebow with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kurojebow looks back up at him and smiles so Pauletty waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pauletty just misses with a punch to the body.
Kurojebow slips under a jab. Kurojebow wants to clinch up but Pauletty keeps it at a distance. Kurojebow shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pauletty as he jumps to the side. Kurojebow fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iwan Kurojebow. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kurojebow drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kurojebow wants to control but Pauletty is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurojebow working away. Pauletty is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kurojebow is staying active. Kurojebow has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pauletty! Pauletty holds on, trying desperately to control. Pauletty is squirming around, avoiding Kurojebow's attempts to control the action. Pauletty is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kurojebow misses with a head shot. Poor strikes thrown by Kurojebow there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pauletty tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kurojebow looking to control but Pauletty is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kurojebow misses with a head shot. Kurojebow controlling from mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pauletty can do anything to dispel that myth. Pauletty is controlling an arm, preventing Kurojebow from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Kurojebow wants to control the pace but Pauletty is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pauletty wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kurojebow.

Kurojebow is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kurojebow trying to control but Pauletty is having none of it. Kurojebow is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pauletty is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Iwan Kurojebow will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kurojebow shoots in but Pauletty avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pauletty lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Kurojebow gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Pauletty counter with a right hand. Pauletty waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kurojebow. A looping hook to the body misses from Pauletty. Kurojebow does a little dance to reset his feet. Pauletty lands a body shot.
Kurojebow blocks a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurojebow with a lazy takedown attempt and Pauletty counters by clinching up. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iwan Kurojebow. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pauletty lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A nice right hand lands inside from Pauletty. Pauletty lands an uppercut.
Kurojebow is rocked! Kurojebow tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pauletty lands with a short shot to the head. Oh Kurojebow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pauletty scores with a shot to the side of Kurojebow's head. Kurojebow wants to break free but Pauletty has control.
Pauletty lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Pauletty mutters something to Kurojebow before pushing him back against the cage. As Kurojebow comes back towards him, Pauletty unloads a hook from the very depths of hell that knocks Kurojebow clean out! Oh. My. God. That is some seriously brutal stuff right there! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kingston Pauletty!
