Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Byron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guilhaume Prevot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guilhaume Prevot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prevot clinches up with Byron and pushes him back against the cage.
Prevot can't break the clinch.

Byron is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Prevot can't fight it off and eventually Byron manages to take the fight to the floor. Prevot looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Prevot is pulling down on Byron's head to control his posture.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Byron accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Byron stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prevot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Prevot is pulling down on Byron's head. It's preventing any offense from Byron, at least for the moment.
Byron is looking to stand up but Prevot won't let him.

Prevot manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Prevot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Byron keeps working.

Byron's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Byron gets tackled into the cage by Prevot. Prevot maintains the clinch.

Byron turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Byron manages to end up in side control.

Prevot throws Byron to one side and escapes!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Byron has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Prevot shoots in and bounces Byron off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Byron had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Prevot defends it easily.

Well Prevot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
