Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Adam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darwinghh Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adam shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alvarez pinned against the cage. Alvarez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Alvarez is looking to clinch but Adam is avoiding it.
Adam fails with a takedown attempt. Adam fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Alvarez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Adam. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adam shoots in for a double leg but Alvarez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Adam scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarez slaps away a takedown attempt from Adam, before circling back to the center of the mat. Adam avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Adam is looking for a counter combo. Alvarez shoots in and drives through. Adam sprawls well. Adam closes the distance and clinches. Adam dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Adam pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Alvarez dives in and grabs Adam's left leg, looking for a takedown. Adam pushes down on Alvarez's head and hops out. Adam closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alvarez circles away. Alvarez throws out a counter right but Adam avoids it with no problem. Alvarez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alvarez there as he acknowledges the shot. Adam throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Alvarez tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Adam is breathing heavily. Alvarez wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adam stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Adam wants it to stay on the feet. Alvarez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Adam.

Adam is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Alvarez. Alvarez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Adam throws a nice outside leg kick. Adam throws a shot from downtown. Alvarez moves away and avoids it. Adam forces Alvarez back against the cage and clinches. Alvarez trying to control the position but instead, Adam has worked for underhooks and has pushed Alvarez into the cage. Alvarez prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Adam's guard. Alvarez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adam is just riding it out for now. Alvarez eventually gives up the hold. Adam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Alvarez content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adam is staying active underneath Alvarez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alvarez missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Adam trying to control here.
Alvarez uses his free foot to push down on Adam's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Adam. Alvarez breaks from Adam's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Alvarez raining down shots from the mount! Alvarez trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roberto Adam will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Adam shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alvarez defends it nicely. Adam has closed the distance and engaged Alvarez in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarez looking to slow down the pace here. Alvarez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Alvarez fails to land. Adam pulls guard successfully.

Alvarez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alvarez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Alvarez postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez slips nicely into half guard. Adam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alvarez on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alvarez not doing much here.
Alvarez works his way into full mount! Alvarez working away from the top, dropping strikes. Alvarez wants to control the pace but Adam is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adam is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Alvarez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adam is looking to escape. Adam tries to control Alvarez's body but Alvarez pushes him off. Adam squirms to his side and now Alvarez has his back! Alvarez trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alvarez controls the position. Will Alvarez go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Alvarez working for a choke but Adam is defending well. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Alvarez's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Adam is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Alvarez gets his way!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darwinghh Alvarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Alvarez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Adam fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alvarez, pushing him back against the cage. Adam gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Alvarez.

Adam is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Alvarez pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Adam. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adam looking for a takedown. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alvarez is looking for a takedown. Alvarez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Adam prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez working the ground and pound but Adam is defending the strikes. Alvarez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Alvarez working the head and body with strikes. Alvarez controlling from side mount. Alvarez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Alvarez advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez lands a big elbow. Alvarez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Alvarez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Adam holds on to Alvarez as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Alvarez content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Darwinghh Alvarez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Alvarez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
