![](https://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/round1.jpg) The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sergeev throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Badger was covering up waiting for the punch and Sergeev finishes the takedown easily into guard. Badger looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sergeev is pushing down on Badger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Badger is fighting to maintain full guard but Sergeev has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sergeev has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Badger defend it? Sergeev steps over the head and cranks it - Badger is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sergeev!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Zurab Sergeev! During a confident post fight interview, Zurab Sergeev thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
