The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McArthur shoots in looking for a takedown. Makinen tries to sprawl out of it but McArthur keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Makinen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters circle momentarily. Makinen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

and Makinen counters with a stiff right hand.

McArthur shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Makinen pinned against the cage. Makinen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McArthur lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

McArthur takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

McArthur is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Makinen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Makinen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. McArthur anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Makinen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! McArthur slips an arm under Makinen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. McArthur has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. McArthur is squeezing on Makinen like an anaconda would it's prey. Makinen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
