PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Flow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Crane might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Fall of Troy - F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.. Flow has chosen Even Flow - Pearl Jam as his entrance music. Stephen Crane had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flow fails with a takedown attempt.

Flow looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Crane stands and steps away. Flow gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Flow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Crane smiles and moves away.
Stephen Crane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evan Flow.

Crane is pressed up against the cage. Flow has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Crane down to the mat. Crane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Flow tries to score a body lock takedown but Crane shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Flow tries to pull guard but Crane won't allow it.

Crane jumps guard and drags Flow to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Crane is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Crane lands an elbow that stopped Flow in his tracks for a moment.

Crane works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Crane has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Flow is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Crane has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Crane gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Crane has hold of one of Flow's legs. Flow is fighting the takedown attempt but Crane gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Flow pulls Crane in to control the position.
Crane tries to free his leg and advance position but Flow is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flow looking for a guillotine here but Crane defends easily.
Crane might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crane looking to pass the guard.

Crane has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Flow to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Crane is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Flow pulls down on the head and he's put Crane to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Evan Flow!
