Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Normand Dillon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DJ Shaw is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Normand Dillon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, DJ Shaw! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw throws a right and a left that both miss. Shaw looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dillon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shaw sprawls well initially but Dillon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. It looks like Dillon is going to stand back up.
Shaw makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Dillon cracks Shaw with an open hand slap. Shaw fails to land with a series of punches.
Shaw lands a left and a right that send Dillon crashing to the mat, dazed. Shaw thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Normand Dillon has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dillon throws a head kick that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dillon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dillon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dillon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dillon prevents Shaw from improving his position. Shaw is trying to maintain the position but Dillon is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dillon wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dillon lands a jab to Shaw's midsection. Dillon dives in and scores a takedown into Shaw's guard. Shaw working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw wants to stand and escape but Dillon is having none of it. Dillon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Shaw avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dillon drops back looking for a leg! Shaw is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shaw manages to kick Dillon off! Dillon jumps back into Shaw's guard. Dillon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dillon won't allow Shaw to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dillon drives through with a takedown into guard. Shaw pushes Dillon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Shaw looks winded! Dillon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shaw on his heels. He'll look to pass Shaw's guard now, I'm sure. Dillon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shaw is proving hard to escape from. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Shaw dominated that round. The cut man is working on Normand Dillon's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dillon clinches up with Shaw and pushes him back against the cage. Shaw trying to stall but Dillon improves his position.
Dillon displaying some good clinch control by pressing Shaw up against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Shaw fails to land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw landing knees to the head.
Shaw is defending well against a takedown attempt. Dillon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dillon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dillon wants to stand and escape but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shaw seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dillon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shaw wants to control from the top but Dillon keeps moving. Dillon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shaw off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Dillon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dillon throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw blocks a head kick by Dillon.
Left hook, right uppercut from Shaw. Dillon throws a head kick but Shaw moves out of range.
And Shaw tries to counter it with a takedown but Dillon pushes his down on his head and steps out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shaw is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Dillon like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Dillon from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DJ Shaw! DJ Shaw was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
