Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elmo Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Harrison is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elmo Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Callahan slaps away a takedown attempt from Harrison, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Harrison shoots in and gets a takedown into Callahan's guard.

Callahan has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Harrison is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Callahan jumps guard but Harrison turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Harrison lands a left hand that snaps the head of Callahan backwards.

Harrison pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Harrison moves into the clinch successfully.
Callahan takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Elmo Callahan has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Harrison's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Harrison gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Callahan landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Harrison lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Harrison wants a takedown but no success here.
Callahan tries to pull guard but Harrison won't allow it.

Callahan pulls Harrison into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harrison with a flurry of punches that miss.

Harrison throwing strikes from guard but Callahan blocks nicely.

Harrison is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Callahan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Callahan has escaped and now he's on top!


Harrison looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Callahan passes into half guard.
Harrison is looking for a sweep. Callahan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Harrison looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harrison is trying to stand.
Harrison wants to control but Callahan is keeping busy.
Callahan throwing shots but Harrison is blocking nicely.
Callahan stops Harrison from getting back to his feet.

Callahan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Harrison makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Callahan gets a takedown into half guard.

Harrison kicks Callahan off and gets back to his feet.
Ryan Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A solid leg kick lands there for Harrison.
Harrison dives in for a single leg takedown but Callahan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Elmo Callahan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Harrison.
Callahan throws a sloppy head kick and Harrison moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Callahan darts in looking for a takedown but Harrison gets double underhooks and turns Callahan into the cage.

Harrison clinches up against the cage.
Harrison has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Callahan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Callahan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Harrison walks away with a smile on his face. Callahan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Harrison looks to throw a body kick
and Callahan counters with a one-two to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Callahan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Harrison smiles and moves away.
Callahan is breathing heavily.
Harrison fails with a takedown attempt.
Callahan shoots in for a takedown but Harrison shows good takedown defense.
Harrison fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Callahan avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Harrison will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Elmo Callahan's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Harrison pushes Callahan up against the cage in a clinch.
Callahan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Harrison to keep the fight standing.
Callahan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Callahan gets underhooks to prevent Harrison's takedown attempt.
Harrison lands a nice elbow.

Harrison's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Callahan fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harrison clinches up against the cage.
Callahan is trying to pull guard but Harrison has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elmo Callahan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Callahan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Harrison smiles and moves away.

Callahan has Harrison up against the cage in a clinch.

Harrison's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Callahan is trying to pull guard but Harrison turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Harrison creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Callahan's defenses.


Callahan is rocked!


Elmo Callahan's cut is getting worse.
Callahan is pressed against the cage. Harrison pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Callahan! Two more big strikes from Harrison and Callahan crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ryan Harrison!
