The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampmann throws a series of strikes that have Leatherwood backpedaling.
It looks like Maxin Leatherwood has been cut.
Leatherwood steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kampmann.
Kampmann catches Leatherwood with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kampmann moves out of range of the body kick from Leatherwood.
Leatherwood missing with a left hand there. Kampmann was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A little feinted left hand from Kampmann on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Leatherwood misses with a low kick.
Kampmann throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Leatherwood counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Leatherwood throws a jab when Kampmann was well out of range.
Kampmann scores with a jab. Leatherwood acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Leatherwood takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Leatherwood is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leatherwood throws a lazy uppercut
and Kampmann makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Leatherwood is still on wobbly legs! Can Kampmann finish him?
Kampmann cracks Leatherwood with a hook to the temple - Leatherwood is on wobbly legs here! Kampmann swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Leatherwood falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Kampmann wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Martin Kampmann!
A relieved looking Martin Kampmann thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
