Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arek Kot! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Scott. Those never looked like landing. Scott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kot. Scott lands a right hook to the body.
Kot is looking to score with low kicks. Scott throws a series of punches but Kot moves out of range. Kot shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kot showed some decent athleticism there. Scott is trying to escape back to his feet but Kot uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kot sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Scott is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kot has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kot throwing shots but missing, from side control. Kot lands a decent elbow from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kot landing a few strikes. Kot landing a few strikes.
Scott is rocked! Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kot on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kot cracks Scott with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kot immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Scott is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kot!
