6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rob Callard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Marshall! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall throws a lazy right hand but Callard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Callard defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marshall. Jab by Marshall. Good leg kick by Callard there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Marshall cracks Callard with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Marshall throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

It looks like Mason Marshall has been cut. Marshall shoots in and bounces Callard off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Marshall forces his way into half guard. Callard wants to get back to full guard. Callard looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Marshall throws a big shot that misses. Callard lands with a kick to the temple. Marshall shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Marshall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Callard defends well and Marshall ends up having to push Callard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Callard lands a really nice looking cross but Marshall seems unphased.
Callard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Marshall's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Callard misses. Marshall misses with a wild body shot. Callard looks to land a combination. Marshall sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Callard fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Marshall is out of range. Callard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

And Marshall tries to counter it with a takedown but Callard pushes his down on his head and steps out. Marshall tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Callard defends well and Marshall ends up having to push Callard into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Marshall throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Callard counters with a head kick. That will keep Marshall thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Callard missing with a left hand there. Marshall was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Callard lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marshall at a distance.
Marshall moves out of range as Callard strikes. Callard throws a body kick that misses. Callard takes one to the chin there. Nice shot lands for Callard. Marshall might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Callard avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Callard misses with a body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Marshall. Callard does a little dance to reset his feet. Rob Callard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marshall throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Callard sees it coming and avoids it easily. Callard thumps Marshall with a low kick. Callard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Callard seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Rob Callard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Marshall. Callard swings for the body but Marshall moves out of range.
Marshall appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Callard throws a body shot but no joy. Marshall throws a hook to the side of Callard's head but Callard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Callard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Callard drops his hands momentarily and Marshall takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Marshall chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Callard can pounce on him.
A telegraphed right hand from Callard misses the target. Callard throws a hook but Marshall avoids it easily. Callard blocks a jab. Marshall stuns Callard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Callard listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Marshall shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Callard's guard. Marshall is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Callard looking for a sweep. Not yet Callard, not yet. Marshall throws a strike but Callard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Callard looking to pass the guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marshall working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Callard. Marshall has control of Callard's left arm, preventing Callard from doing any damage. Callard postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Callard stands up over Marshall, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Callard in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Callard throws a strike but Marshall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Marshall landing with the ground and pound. Mason Marshall has got the better of the ground game so far. Marshall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. It looked like Callard was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. The fighters circling - Callard throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Marshall lands a right hook to the body.
Crunch! Callard slams his shin into Marshall's torso. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Callard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Marshall's sensitive parts. Callard lands a two punch combo.

A big right from Callard misses. Marshall with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Callard to score with a decent uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Callard pushes Marshall away with a front kick. Callard throws a lazy right hand but Marshall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Marshall scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Callard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marshall can do to turn this around? Callard cracks Marshall with a right hand to the side of the head. Marshall shoots in and drives through. Callard sprawls well. Marshall misses with an uppercut. Callard saw that one coming. Marshall on the wrong end of a nice hook.
