9 - 25 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leonid Spartak! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spartak tries to keep at a distance but Thai has taken the fight into the clinch. Thai scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Leonid Spartak has been cut. Thai taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Thai connects with a knee to the head.
Thai throws a knee to the head but misses.
Thai lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Spartak trying to land knees to the body.
Thai breaks from the clinch.
Thai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Spartak, pushing him back against the cage. Thai breaks from the clinch.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Thai - that will leave a mark!
Thai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Thai effectively controlling the action here. Thai lands a knee to the head.
That has opened up Leonid Spartak's cut even more. Thai's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position. Thai connects with a knee to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spartak wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thai has him pressed against the cage. Thai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Thai moves into the clinch. Thai leaning against his opponent.

Thai prevents a takedown attempt there.
Thai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spartak throws a chopping leg kick but Thai manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Thai clinches up with Spartak and pushes him back against the cage. Thai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Spartak is trying to push Thai away but Thai has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Thai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Muay Thai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thai drives through and clinches with Spartak against the cage.
Spartak is trying to pull guard but Thai turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Thai lands an elbow inside that Spartak shrugs off. Thai lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Spartak has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thai is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Muay Thai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonid Spartak. Thai breaks the clinch.
Thai takes the fight into the clinch. Thai tries a knee to the head but Spartak blocks it.
Thai slowing the pace effectively. Spartak pulls guard effortlessly. Thai decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Thai has closed the distance and engaged Spartak in a clinch.

The cut above Leonid Spartak's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thai lands an elbow inside. Thai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thai clinches. Thai landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Spartak looks winded! Thai manages to break the clinch.
Thai instigates a clinch. Thai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Muay Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Spartak, pushing him back against the cage. Thai breaks the clinch.
Thai moves into the clinch. Thai lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Thai is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A knee to the head by Thai.
Leonid Spartak's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Thai scores with a knee to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thai jerks Spartak's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Spartak drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Thai goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Thai because Spartak was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Muay Thai! An out of breath Muay Thai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
