Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Botond Robert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Botond Robert is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Karl Wagner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Botond Robert! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robert avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wagner throws a hook but Robert avoids it easily. We've been informed that Robert has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Robert throws a nice looking combination but Wagner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Robert lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Robert fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Robert slips a jab from Wagner. Robert circles away from the clinch attempt.
Robert wants to counter the offense by Wagner and move into the clinch position. Wagner is looking to land body kicks. Robert connects with a body shot. Wagner takes a body punch but keeps moving. Wagner tries to clinch up but Robert circles away and keeps his distance. Wagner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Robert pinned against the cage. Robert gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wagner tries to land a front kick but Robert steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sloppy strikes from Robert. Those never looked like landing. Wagner fires out a quick counter leg kick but Robert just manages to avoid it. Wagner with a lazy takedown attempt and Robert moves into the clinch. Wagner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Robert dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A jab lands there for Robert. Wagner looks for a takedown but Robert sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karl Wagner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wagner takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Robert works Wagner's body with a nice hook. Wagner is breathing heavily. Wagner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Robert.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wagner takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Robert lands a right hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wagner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Robert swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Robert lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Botond Robert is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Robert misses with a two punch combination.
Robert goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Robert scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Robert lands with a shot to the body. Robert digs a good hook to Wagner's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wagner takes a body punch but keeps moving. A right-left combo lands from Robert. Robert scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wagner in his tracks. Robert throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Wagner's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Robert dives in looking to finish as Wagner flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Robert's strikes! Robert is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Wagner's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Wagner was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Botond Robert!
