Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz fails in his attempt to clinch.
John fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ruiz sprawls well initially but John persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ruiz is trying to control but can't.
Ruiz is looking for a sweep. John is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ruiz wants to control but John is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ruiz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for John on the ground.
John passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
John cracks Ruiz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee warns Ruiz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
John landing strikes, looking to finish!
Ruiz is rocked!
John controlling the pace for now.
John manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ruiz to take his back!
That's one minute gone in the round.
John lands strikes to the head.
Oh Ruiz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
John has his arm under Ruiz's chin here. Game over son! John squeezes tightly and Ruiz is forced to tap out!
