PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zackary Glenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Pulaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zackary Glenn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Pulaski!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Glenn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pulaski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Glenn pushes Pulaski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Pulaski fails with the takedown.
Pulaski doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Glenn counters by moving into the clinch.
Glenn jumps guard but Pulaski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Pulaski stalling in the clinch but Glenn improves position.
Glenn wants a takedown.
Glenn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pulaski avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zackary Glenn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Glenn is trying to drag Pulaski to the mat but Pulaski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Glenn tries to pull guard but Pulaski holds him up against the cage and eventually Glenn drops back down to his feet.

Pulaski breaks the clinch.
Pulaski throws a body kick that misses
and Glenn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Glenn gets tackled into the cage by Pulaski. Pulaski maintains the clinch.
Glenn has Pulaski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pulaski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Pulaski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Glenn.
Pulaski is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Glenn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pulaski blocks a head kick by Glenn.
Pulaski wants to clinch up but Glenn keeps it at a distance.
Pulaski is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Glenn tries to clinch there but Pulaski circles away.

Pulaski moves into the clinch.

Glenn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pulaski can't fight it off and eventually Glenn manages to take the fight to the floor. Pulaski looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pulaski looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Pulaski looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Glenn has picked Pulaski up and slammed him! Pulaski can't keep hold of the triangle and Glenn manages to pass to side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Glenn postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Pulaski takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Pulaski tries to bench press Glenn off him but Glenn keeps the position.
Glenn is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pulaski will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Pulaski is looking to regain half guard here but Glenn keeps moving and retains side control.
Glenn prevents Pulaski from escaping the position.
Pulaski is trying to improve his position.
Pulaski takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Glenn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Glenn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pulaski is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Pulaski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Glenn controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zackary Glenn dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Pulaski scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Zackary Glenn has been cut.

Glenn closes the distance and clinches.
Glenn tries for a takedown. No joy.
Glenn tries to pull guard but Pulaski forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pulaski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Glenn.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zackary Glenn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Glenn gets control of Pulaski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Glenn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pulaski is looking to advance position but Glenn has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Glenn wants to finish this one by submission but Pulaski is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Glenn.
Glenn throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Pulaski is desperately trying to improve his position but Glenn has a good base and remains in mount.

Glenn jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pulaski manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Pulaski is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Glenn controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Glenn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pulaski is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pulaski struggling a bit here.

Glenn stands up and beckons Pulaski to his feet.
Pulaski lands with a straight right. Glenn didn't see that one coming.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Pulaski.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Glenn wants to clinch up but Pulaski keeps it at a distance.
Pulaski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Glenn pinned against the cage. Glenn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Glenn tries to counter by clinching up but Pulaski breaks away and moves out of range.

Pulaski misses with a low kick.

Pulaski gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pulaski prevents a takedown attempt there.

Glenn lands a takedown into guard.

Pulaski manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Glenn tries for a takedown but Pulaski manages to get underhooks.
Pulaski lands a knee to the body.
Pulaski can't get the takedown.

Pulaski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Pulaski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Glenn as he avoids it easily.
Pulaski bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pulaski rushes Glenn and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Glenn pulls Pulaski into guard.

Glenn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pulaski is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Glenn.

Pulaski decides to stand up, so the ref orders Glenn to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derek Pulaski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Zackary Glenn's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Pulaski looks to land a combination. Glenn sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Glenn tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Glenn has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pulaski regains guard immediately.
Zackary Glenn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Glenn throws a big elbow that misses.
Glenn controls from within his opponent's guard.
Pulaski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Glenn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Glenn won't allow Pulaski to sweep him here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Glenn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pulaski, up you get!

Pulaski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pulaski shoots in but no luck this time.
Zackary Glenn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Pulaski.

Glenn has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Pulaski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Glenn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Glenn darts in and clinches Pulaski up against the cage.

Pulaski is pressed up against the cage. Glenn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pulaski down to the mat. Pulaski avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Glenn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pulaski is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Glenn closes the distance and clinches.

Glenn has hold of one of Pulaski's legs. Pulaski is fighting the takedown attempt but Glenn gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Glenn gets to his feet - Pulaski follows without any prompting.
Glenn tries to clinch up but Pulaski circles away and keeps his distance.
Pulaski looks for a takedown but Glenn sprawls well.

and Glenn moves into the clinch.

Glenn manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Pulaski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Glenn is proving hard to escape from.
Glenn looking for a sweep. Not yet Glenn, not yet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pulaski looking to sit in guard and control but Glenn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Glenn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zackary Glenn showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Glenn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
