Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Kenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edward Kenway has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jose Correa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Correa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Kenway!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correa misses with a wild combination.
Kenway is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Correa with a body shot.
Kenway throws a leg kick but Correa checks it.

Kenway darts in and clinches Correa up against the cage.
Correa stalling.
Kenway digs a right hand underneath Correa's ribcage. Correa let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kenway lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Correa backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Correa.
Kenway can't find room to land a body shot as Correa controls the action.
Kenway lands a nice shot to the body.
Kenway blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Correa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Correa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Correa works to advance to full mount. Kenway defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
We've been hearing that Correa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Kenway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Correa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Correa is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kenway has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Correa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kenway manages to avoid it.

Kenway drives through and clinches with Correa against the cage.
Correa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kenway avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Correa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
