Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter McBain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McBain has chosen Harder Than You Think by Public Enemy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Peter McBain! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson has managed to clinch.
McBain tries to break the clinch but Jackson is controlling the position. Jackson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McBain wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jackson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. McBain wants to get back to striking at distance but Jackson won't allow it.
Jackson is looking to take this one to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A frustrated look appears on McBain's face as he tries to break the clinch. McBain avoiding damage as Jackson throws knees to the body.
McBain is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McBain on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBain tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage. Jackson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McBain.
McBain wants to break free but Jackson has control.
McBain wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jackson tries to pull guard but McBain holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.

Jackson jumps guard but McBain stands there with Jackson around his waist. Jackson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson has McBain pressed against the cage, preventing McBain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The referee calls for Jackson to work.
Our sources have told us that Jackson has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Jackson tries for a takedown but McBain manages to get underhooks.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson misses with a knee to the head. McBain has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jackson keeps control of McBain as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McBain has had enough of the clinch but Jackson keeps him there for the moment. McBain is trying to push Jackson away but Jackson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. McBain blocks an elbow strike from Jackson.
Jackson lands a shoulder strike. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McBain is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Jackson fails to land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A quick step to the side and Jackson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Peter McBain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McBain misses with a few strikes there.
Jackson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. McBain throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range. McBain stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McBain's half guard. Jackson wants to take a breather but McBain is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McBain regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Jackson. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McBain is keeping the position for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson wants to control from the top but McBain keeps moving. Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McBain works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jackson stays in close to McBain's body and controls the position. McBain wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McBain keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Left hook, right uppercut from McBain. McBain lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. McBain has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jackson is landing a low percentage of strikes. Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McBain works some decent striking defense from the bottom. McBain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McBain keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Jackson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson prevents McBain from getting back to his feet. Jackson wants to control from the top but McBain keeps moving. McBain wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jackson avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. McBain throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range. Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
McBain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Peter McBain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McBain keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McBain swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jackson wants to control from the top but McBain keeps moving. Jackson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with McBain, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes McBain against the cage but McBain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. McBain lands with a cross. Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McBain. McBain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. McBain tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jackson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but McBain manages to circle out of the way. McBain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McBain was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson. Jackson misses with a low kick. Jackson lands a nice hook to McBain's body. McBain takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. McBain lands the left hand. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McBain paws at him with a jab and circles away. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson needs to keep his hands up - McBain had a free shot at his head there. McBain looks to land a right hand but Jackson moved out of range. A cross from McBain lands. A jab lands there for McBain. McBain misses the shot to the body.

Jackson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McBain on his heels. He'll look to pass McBain's guard now, I'm sure. Jackson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. McBain keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McBain is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jackson content to stall in guard here. Jackson throws a strike but McBain rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jackson looking to control but McBain passes into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson wants to control but McBain is keeping busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter McBain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think McBain has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
