PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Eko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eko has chosen Kraddy- Porn Original as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vincenzo Langley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Eko!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eko throws a lazy right hand but Langley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Eko scores with a crisp jab that stopped Langley in his tracks.
Eko throws a poor cross that misses
and Langley counters with a left and a right that stings Eko.
Langley blocks a jab.
Langley appears to be looking for a big counter.

Eko looking to score a takedown here. Langley is defending well but Eko drives through and ends up in Langley's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Eko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Eko trying to control but Langley is working from the bottom.
Eko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Eko throws a big elbow that misses.
Eko wants to pass the guard but Langley is keeping the position.
Eko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Eko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Langley manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Eko has Langley in his guard.


Eko working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Langley has passed into half guard!
Langley content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Eko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Langley pulls his head out easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Langley seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Eko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Langley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Eko looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Langley pushes past his half guard into mount!
Eko is trying to reverse the position but instead Langley has taken his back - oops!
You can see the frustration on Eko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Eko is trying to get back to his feet but Langley has full control of the position and if anything, Eko has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Eko tries to roll but Langley sticks to his back.
Langley is not going to allow Eko to sit and survive in this position.
Eko is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Eko tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Langley won't let Eko get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Langley has hold of Eko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Eko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Langley manages to capitalize on a mistake by Eko to take his back!
I really don't envy Eko right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eko is trying to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eko wants to control his opponent's hands but Langley gets his hands free.
Eko tries to roll but Langley sticks to his back.
Eko covering up well under a barage of strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I really don't envy Eko right now.
Eko wants to get back to his feet.
Langley tries to get the hooks in deep but Eko pushed the leg off.
Langley has the hooks in. Eko is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Eko trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eko is trying to get back to his feet but Langley has full control of the position and if anything, Eko has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Eko is really stuck here.
Eko keeps trying to improve his position.
Eko is trying to stand back up.
Langley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Eko wants to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eko is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Eko wants to control his opponent's hands but Langley gets his hands free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vincenzo Langley dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Langley takes a jab right on the kisser.
Eko lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Langley is rocked!
Eko misses with a low kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Langley misses its target.
Oh Langley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eko lands a brutal uppercut that launches Langley off his feet! Langley tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mr Eko!
A less than humble Mr Eko misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
