Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Rios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Johnz!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rios.
Rios landing a few strikes.
Rios content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Rios seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnz for as long as he can get away with.
Rios could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tyson Rios just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Rios closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnz to the mat! Johnz manages to get full guard.
Rios controlling from the top position.
Rios's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnz looks gassed!

Johnz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Johnz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rios.
Rios controlling from the top position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tyson Rios just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Rios drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johnz is letting Rios control him for a moment.
Rios lands a few punches from side control.

Rios taking a breather here.
Johnz is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Rios just content to control the position.

Rios tries for a kimura but Johnz is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Rios dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rios drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rios is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rios forces his way into half guard.
Johnz is breathing heavily.
Rios working the head and body with strikes.

Rios is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Rios is trying for a kimura here. Johnz looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Rios wins by kimura!
