Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Cid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos has chosen Sandstorm as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
43 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Cid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cid is looking to clinch but Cronos is avoiding it.
Cronos avoids the head kick by Cid.
Xavier Cid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cronos connects with a crisp jab. Cronos scores with a sloppy right hand. Cid should have avoided that one. Cid lands the left hand. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cid, as that shot connected.
Cid wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Cid throws a head kick but Cronos moves out of range.
Cronos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cid manages to avoid it. Cronos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cronos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cronos connects with a body shot. Cronos circles away from the clinch attempt and Cronos counters with a shoot takedown. Cid fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cid is adopting a defensive guard. Cronos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cid has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cronos has managed to get both his arms back between Cid's legs - danger averted. Cid keeping moving, preventing Cronos from controlling successfully. Cronos sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cid keeping full guard, as Cronos tries to pass. Cronos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cid escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cronos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cronos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Cid is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Cronos missing with a left hand there. Cid was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've been told by Cid's head coaches at UHK, Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Cid jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cronos takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Cronos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cid tries to close the distance and clinch but Cronos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cid misses with a hook to the body
and Cronos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cronos throws a looping overhand right but Cid ducks down to avoid it. Cid pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cronos is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Cid takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Cronos tries to bum rush Cid with a series of wild strikes but Cid uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Horrible takedown attempt by Cid or perhaps it was just good defense by Cronos, which made it look bad. Cronos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A lazy left from Cid finds it's target. Cronos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cid.
Cid moves out of range as Cronos strikes. Cid throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A telegraphed right hand from Cid misses the target. Cronos cracks Cid with an open hand slap.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cid throws a right and a left that both miss. Cronos blocks a low kick nicely. A slow jab from Cronos misses its intended target. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cid looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cid tries a head kick but it misses.
Cronos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Cid is looking to clinch. Cronos throws a big shot that misses. Cid throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cronos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cid was well out of range. Poor timing from Cronos. Cid tries a head kick but it misses.
Cronos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cid defends it nicely. Cronos avoids the body shot from Cid.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jose Cronos will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cronos throws a big shot that misses. A bone on bone clash there as Cronos blocks the leg kick.
Cid scores with a shot to the body.
Cid takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Cid throws a head kick but Cronos moves out of range.
Cronos throws a hook to the side of Cid's head but Cid sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cid tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cronos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cronos shoots in for a takedown but Cid shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Cid seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Cronos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cid.
Cronos let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cid tries to clinch but Cronos moves out of range. Cronos lands with an uppercut that bounces Cid off the cage and back into range. Cronos misses the shot to the body. It looked like Cid was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Cronos has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cid. Cid wants to clinch but Cronos slips to the side and Cronos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cid throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cronos is defended easily by Cid. Cid clinches up with Cronos and pushes him back against the cage. Cronos gets a trip takedown into half guard. Cid is looking to control Cronos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cid avoid being mounted? Cronos is looking for a kimura here.
Cronos is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cid is working hard here to advance position. Cronos wants to work for an arm triangle but Cid is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cid is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cronos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cid sees it coming and defends easily. Cid looking for submissions off his back. Cronos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cid is looking to improve his position.
Cronos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cid does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cronos is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Cid wants to control but Cronos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cronos maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cid could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Cronos has cracked it and Cid is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Cronos!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jose Cronos! A relieved looking Jose Cronos thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
