PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Taisumov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigurd Ragnarsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taisumov comes to the cage accompanied by eRa- Enae Volare Mezzo. Ragnarsson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Animal. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Taisumov misses.

Some wild striking there from Taisumov.
Ragnarsson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Ragnarsson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Taisumov was covering up waiting for the punch and Ragnarsson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Taisumov has control of Ragnarsson's left arm, preventing Ragnarsson from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Taisumov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ragnarsson escapes and throws Taisumov's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Taisumov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ragnarsson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Ragnarsson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Well, if Ragnarsson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ragnarsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
My spies in *Shrug* inform me that Ragnarsson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Ragnarsson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taisumov is just riding it out for now. Ragnarsson eventually gives up the hold.

Taisumov has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ragnarsson escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ragnarsson!

You can see the frustration on Taisumov's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
