Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandy Coutture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell Joseph is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph tries to close the distance and clinch but Coutture swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coutture scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Joseph tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Joseph is squirming around, avoiding Coutture's attempts to control the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Coutture cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Coutture can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Joseph is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Coutture avoids the attempt from Joseph to control.
Coutture content just to control the position here.
Coutture is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Joseph can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Coutture stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Coutture is breathing heavily.
Joseph lands with a nice body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Joseph moves in looking to clinch but Coutture pushes him off.
Coutture fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Joseph tries to clinch up but Coutture circles away and keeps his distance.
Coutture takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Brandy Coutture has been cut.

Joseph scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Joseph cracks Coutture with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Joseph has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Coutture to stand back up!

Joseph fails in his attempt to clinch.
Oh Coutture is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Coutture moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Joseph wants to clinch up but Coutture keeps it at a distance.
Joseph drops Coutture with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Coutture looks back up at him and smiles so Joseph waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coutture looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Coutture seems to have got his legs back now.
Coutture takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Coutture has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Coutture there as he acknowledges the shot.
Joseph tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coutture paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Coutture ducks straight into an uppercut from Joseph and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Coutture maanges to regain guard straight away.

Joseph slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Joseph wants to stand but Coutture has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Coutture looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Joseph passes into half guard.
Joseph seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Coutture is not content to let Joseph control the position.
Joseph is trying to work for a kimura but Coutture is defending well.
Joseph prevents Coutture from improving his position.

Joseph lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Joseph lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Coutture is looking to close the distance but Joseph sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Coutture crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Coutture is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
