Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Les Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Les Willis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Jackson! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Skip Squint and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Check out the look on Jackson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Willis prevents Jackson from improving position. Jackson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Willis down.
Willis is looking to reverse the position. Willis throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jackson taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson trying to control the position but Willis is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Willis keeps working. Willis is looking to regain half guard here but Jackson keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A lull in the action here. Willis wants to control but Jackson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jackson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Willis wants to control but Jackson postures up. Jackson controls the position from side control. It looks like Jackson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jackson scores with a leg kick.
Jackson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Willis quickly recovers to half guard. Jackson wants to take a breather but Willis is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Willis gets back to full guard.
Jackson wants to stand but Willis has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Willis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Jackson trying to control the position.
Jackson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Willis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jackson gets a double leg takedown into Willis's guard. Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Willis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Willis wants to sweep but Jackson has passed to side control! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson works to advance to full mount. Willis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Jackson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Willis napping and manages to drive through into side control! Willis prevents Jackson from moving into mount. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Jackson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Willis is trying to improve his position. Jackson taking a break here but Willis is having none of it and regains half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson wants to control but Willis is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Willis is controlling Jackson's trapped leg to prevent Jackson from advancing to side control. Jackson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jackson is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Willis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson stands and throws Willis's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jackson slows the pace down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The referee asks Jackson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jackson prefers to stall for the moment though. Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The strikes coming from Jackson are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jackson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Willis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Willis is trying to get back to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson throws a strike aimed at the side of Willis's head but Willis avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Willis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Willis's guard. Jackson stays in close to Willis's body and controls the position. Willis is trying to keep Jackson in close.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Willis to the mat! Willis manages to get full guard. Willis has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jackson has passed into side control.
Jackson lands a nice forearm strike. Jackson stands up and beckons Willis to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Jackson working the body and head with strikes. Willis wants to control but Jackson postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jackson scores with a couple of short elbows. Les Willis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Jackson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jackson in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that's the end of the fight! James Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
