Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slamet Panjul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Drievko! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Panjul pushes Drievko up against the cage in a clinch. Drievko is fighting off a takedown attempt but Panjul is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Drievko to the mat. Drievko regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Panjul trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Drievko is looking to stand up but Panjul isn't so interested in that idea. Panjul works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drievko is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice strikes from Panjul there. Drievko missing with punches from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Panjul is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Drievko has managed to free his arm - good work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Drievko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Panjul is working away from the top position though. Well, if Panjul is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Panjul passes to side control. Panjul wants to control but Drievko is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panjul tries for a kimura but Drievko is defending well. Panjul tries to move into full mount but can't pass Drievko's legs. Drievko can't do much from the bottom here. Panjul has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Drievko! Drievko tries to get back to half guard but can't. Drievko wants to control but Panjul is having none of it. Drievko has given up his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drievko rolls, trying to escape but Panjul keeps control of the position.
Drievko looks winded! Panjul throwing wild punches that miss their target. Panjul is persistently looking for the submission but Drievko is defending it well.
Drievko breaks Panjul's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Drievko is in close to Panjul's body, working some short punches and elbows. Panjul not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Panjul is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Drievko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Drievko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Panjul is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slamet Panjul dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Panjul. Drievko with the counter takedown but Panjul avoids it easily. Panjul has managed to clinch.

Drievko has his hands on Panjul's head, controlling the position. Panjul preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Panjul decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Panjul doesn't succeed with the takedown and Drievko counters with a takedown into side control. Panjul prevents Drievko from moving into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drievko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Panjul, who protects the arm well. Drievko is breathing heavily. Drievko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Panjul has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drievko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Panjul pushes Drievko away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Drievko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Panjul throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Panjul throws a wild body kick that Drievko sees coming a mile off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drievko doesn't succeed with the takedown and Panjul counters with a three punch combo that has Drievko backing up. Drievko nods at Panjul to acknowledge the strikes. Panjul feints and as Drievko raises his hands in defense, Panjul changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Panjul pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Drievko is keeping the position for now. Drievko lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Panjul has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drievko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Drievko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Panjul wriggles free and stands up. Panjul fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slamet Panjul. That's going to take a lot out of him. Drievko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Panjul tries to avoid it but Drievko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Panjul to the ground. Panjul escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Panjul clinches up with Drievko and pushes him back against the cage. Drievko has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Panjul is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Drievko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Panjul prevents it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Panjul - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Panjul gets a trip takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Drievko manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Panjul avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Panjul got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drievko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Panjul has managed to get both his arms back between Drievko's legs - danger averted. Panjul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Drievko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Panjul wants to control from the top but Drievko keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Slamet Panjul dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
