Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Gatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter has chosen John Carter of Mars as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Gatti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gatti has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Montreal in the buildup to the fight.

We've been informed that Carter has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Carter throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gatti has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carter after a bit of a struggle.

Carter unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Gatti! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Carter is unloading with more strikes now! Gatti drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Carter!
After the fight, John Carter was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
