Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darnell Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curt Hennig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darnell Cane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curt Hennig !
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cane fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Darnell Cane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hennig is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hennig .
And Hennig tries to counter it with a takedown but Cane pushes his down on his head and steps out.

A jab from Cane finds it's way through Hennig 's defenses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hennig has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Cane changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Hennig throws a lazy right hand but Cane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cane cracks Hennig with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cane looks to throw the jab but Hennig is out of range.
Hennig changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cane. Hennig does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cane lands a slapping body shot.
Cane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hennig gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cane pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hennig with the counter takedown but Cane avoids it easily.
Hennig walks into a straight right hand from Cane.
Cane moves out of range of the strikes.
Hennig shoots in for a double leg but Cane sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nice straight punches there by Cane. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cane.

Cane uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hennig looks to land a right hand but Cane moved out of range.
Hennig throws a lazy uppercut
and Hennig takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hennig shoots in but Cane avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cane appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Cane sizes up Hennig with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hennig looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Cane fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hennig throws a jab when Cane was well out of range.
Hennig throws a shot from downtown. Cane moves away and avoids it.

Cane drops Hennig with a beautiful combination! Hennig stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cane is looking for the KO!

It looks like Curt Hennig has been cut.

Hennig scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hennig is still in real trouble! Can Cane finish him?
Hennig thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hennig seems to have recovered his senses.

Hennig is keen to just control but Cane is a slippery customer.
Hennig misses with a head shot. Cane uses the momentum to regain guard.

Cane wants to sweep but no luck.
Cane keeping moving, preventing Hennig from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hennig wants to pass the guard but Cane is keeping the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hennig thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hennig throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cane sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cane misses with a right hand
and Hennig makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A slow jab from Cane misses its intended target.

Hennig bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cane is being controlled here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hennig takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Donk. Cane catches Hennig right on the button with a cross.
The fighters circling - Cane throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cane is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hennig fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cane avoids it really well and circles away.
Cane throws a big counter combination but Hennig scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cane uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hennig .

Hennig shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cane manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Hennig decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cane's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darnell Cane will probably get the nod.

That's time! Cane's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Hennig is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cane knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hennig takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hennig misses with an uppercut.
Cane will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hennig tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cane wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Cane looks to land a left hand but Hennig moved out of range nicely.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hennig takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Darnell Cane showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cane, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
