Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ognjen throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ognjen throws a one two combo.
It looks like Lyle Nicholson has been cut.
Nicholson has a takedown stuffed.
Ognjen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ognjen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nicholson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nicholson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nicholson misses with a takedown attempt - Ognjen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ognjen looks to land a combination but Nicholson avoids it well.

and Ognjen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ognjen.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyle Nicholson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nicholson tries to pull guard but Ognjen holds him up against the cage and eventually Nicholson drops back down to his feet.
Nicholson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nicholson tries to clinch but Ognjen is having none of it.
Ognjen misses with a combination
and Nicholson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nicholson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ognjen.
Ognjen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nicholson back to the cage. Ognjen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
We've been informed that Ognjen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ognjen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nicholson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

A nice leg kick lands there from Ognjen.
Nicholson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ognjen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nikolajs Ognjen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ognjen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nicholson takes a swing at Ognjen's ribcage but misses.
Ognjen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ognjen throws a series of punches but Nicholson avoids them all with ease.
Oooooh!!! Ognjen has knocked Nicholson down with a huge combo! Ognjen steps away and waves a wobbly Nicholson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Nicholson is rocked!
Ognjen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nicholson. That did some damage!
Oh Nicholson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nicholson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ognjen.
Ognjen feints and then cracks Nicholson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nicholson down.
Nicholson seems to have got his legs back now.

Ognjen wants to counter with a clinch but Nicholson pushes him away.

Nicholson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ognjen is fending him off so far but Nicholson persists. Nope, Ognjen circles away and we're back to standing.
Nicholson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ognjen as he jumps to the side.

Ognjen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ognjen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ognjen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ognjen lands a jab to the head.
Lyle Nicholson's cut is getting worse.

Ognjen jabs Nicholson to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ognjen keeps the fight on the outside.
Ognjen connects with a nice cross there... Nicholson is looking wobbly and Ognjen recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Nicholson to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Ognjen jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nikolajs Ognjen!
A very excited looking Nikolajs Ognjen rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
