PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zachery Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah McNeudzes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zachery Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah McNeudzes!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McNeudzes drives through with a takedown into Silva's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet.
Silva throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
McNeudzes wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
McNeudzes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
McNeudzes connects with a couple of short punches.
McNeudzes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McNeudzes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Silva throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
McNeudzes postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it.
McNeudzes engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
It looks like McNeudzes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McNeudzes drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva is pulling down on McNeudzes's head. It's preventing any offense from McNeudzes, at least for the moment.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McNeudzes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
McNeudzes throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely.
McNeudzes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McNeudzes is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McNeudzes on the ground.
Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - McNeudzes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McNeudzes is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McNeudzes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. McNeudzes eventually gives up the hold.
McNeudzes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McNeudzes is continuing to stall.
Silva wants to control but McNeudzes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McNeudzes is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Silva wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - McNeudzes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah McNeudzes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



McNeudzes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Silva on his heels. He'll look to pass Silva's guard now, I'm sure.

Silva manages to escape and get back to his feet.

McNeudzes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but McNeudzes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

McNeudzes is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McNeudzes passes to side control.
Silva wants to control but McNeudzes postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva is not content to let McNeudzes control the position.
The strikes coming from McNeudzes are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Silva wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
McNeudzes trying to control the position but Silva is working away.
Silva wants to control but McNeudzes postures up.

McNeudzes is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Silva looks calm but he's in trouble here. McNeudzes gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Silva is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! McNeudzes lets go of the hold and Silva can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Noah McNeudzes!
