Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beto Matielli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ken Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Beto Matielli! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Matielli! Matielli regains half guard. Matielli actively working from the bottom here. Matielli regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lee. Lee thows a big elbow that misses. Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matielli on the ground. Matielli working for a triangle but Lee defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lee turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Matielli keeps working. Lee lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Lee throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Matielli's head. Matielli on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Matielli avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lee connects with a nice short shot to Matielli's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee is working for a kimura but Matielli is defending it quite comfortably.

Lee works over Matielli's head and body with a nice combination. Lee closes the distance and clinches. Lee crunches a lovely knee into Matielli's ribcage. Lee successfully pulls guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lee wants to get up but he can't break Matielli's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lee lands with a kick to the ribs.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Lee trying to land knees to the body.

Lee has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Matielli regains guard immediately. Matielli utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is looking to stand up but Matielli won't let him. Lee trying to control but Matielli is working from the bottom. Lee sitting in guard, not really doing much. Lee wants to control from the top but Matielli keeps moving. Lee throwing strikes from guard but Matielli blocks nicely. Lee throwing strikes but missing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Matielli trying to remain calm as Lee controls from the top position. Lee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Matielli has escaped the position, nice work there. Matielli is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Lee dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Lee has managed to clinch.
Lee jumps guard and drags Matielli to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Lee pulls Matielli in to control the position. Lee will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Matielli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lee is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lee is looking for a sweep. Lee isn't going anywhere. You can see the frustration on Lee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ken Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lee tries to buck Matielli off but Matielli is having none of it. Lee throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Lee is pulling down on Matielli's head to control his posture. Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matielli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matielli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that's the end of the fight! Ken Lee showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
