Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Ogard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 11 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Cierzniak! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cierzniak swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ogard. Cierzniak does a little dance to reset his feet. Ogard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cierzniak lands with a good body shot. Ogard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cierzniak clinches. Ogard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Cierzniak. Ogard is trying to force a seperation but Cierzniak has the dominant position. Ogard swings wildly with an uppercut but Cierzniak uses good head movement to avoid it. Ogard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Cierzniak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cierzniak will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cierzniak throws a combination. Ogard tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cierzniak throws a big right hand that misses. Ogard has a closed guard, preventing Cierzniak from standing up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cierzniak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cierzniak lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cierzniak stands up over Ogard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cierzniak accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cierzniak is looking to stand up but Ogard won't let him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cierzniak lands a right hook to the body.
Ogard scores with a jab. Cierzniak acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Cierzniak has closed the distance and engaged Ogard in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cierzniak blocks an uppercut.

Ogard looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Cierzniak working some nice short punches in the clinch. Cierzniak throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ogards head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cierzniak breaks from the clinch.
Ogard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cierzniak throws out the jab. Cierzniak swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cierzniak shoots in for a double leg but Ogard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ogard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Ogard is breathing heavily. Cierzniak lands with a nice body punch. Cierzniak misses with a series of wild punches.
Cierzniak jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cierzniak instigates a clinch. Ogard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ivan Ogard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cierzniak swings for the body but Ogard moves out of range.
Cierzniak drops Ogard with a left right combo! Cierzniak follows him down to the ground into side control.
Ogard is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cierzniak crunches a massive hammerfist down on Ogard - he's out! Cierzniak Holds back on further strikes and jumps to his feet to celebrate with the crowd!
