Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, George Glass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike John! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glass closes the distance and clinches up with John, looking for a takedown. Glass pushes John against the cage but John circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. John throws a half hearted mid kick. Glass closes the distance and pushes John back into the cage. Knees to the body from Glass.
Glass changes levels and goes for a takedown here. John fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Glass throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Glass steps to the side to avoid the strikes from John. Glass moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as John takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Glass manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass is trying to pull guard but John has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. John misses with a head kick.
John throws a body shot but no joy. John ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Glass with a poor takedown and John counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Glass! Glass sneaks out the side door and pushes John away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. John tries to close the distance and clinch but Glass swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John lands a front kick. Glass stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Glass wants it to stay on the feet. A punch combination from Glass misses. Glass shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches John napping and manages to drive through into side control! John defending against the ground and pound. Glass misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. John is trying to get back to half guard. Glass is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down John's shoulder. That is not cool. John is not content to let Glass control the position. John tries to control but Glass manages to take his back. John is having to fend off submission attempts from Glass, who is looking to sink in the choke. Glass doesn't have the hooks in though and John manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Glass avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Glass dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Glass misses with a wild combination.
Glass shoots in and drives through. John sprawls well. John displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Glass. Glass moves into range and clinches up with John. Glass tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Glass is looking for a takedown up against the cage. John gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him. A bit of stalling here from Glass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. John is defending well for now. Glass trying to land knees to the body.

John jumps guard but Glass stands there with John around his waist. John gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glass wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nice elbow from John. Glass tries to pull guard but John holds him up against the cage and eventually Glass drops back down to his feet.
Glass keeps the fight in the clinch, despite John's efforts to push away. Glass stalls. Glass lands a shoulder strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. John has Glass pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Glass manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Glass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Glass swinging wildly here.
Glass closes this distance looking for a takedown but John circles away. John tries to keep at a distance but Glass has taken the fight into the clinch. Glass wants a takedown.
Glass gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from John.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Glass holding his opponent close, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Glass dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Glass doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Glass fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
John fails with an attempt to clinch.
Glass pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Glass has a takedown stuffed. John takes a swing at Glass's ribcage but misses. Glass has managed to clinch.
Glass stalls. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John is trying to drag Glass to the mat but Glass just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Glass is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that John can do to turn this around? Glass successfully pulls guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glass is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and John dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. John working the ground and pound. Glass is pushing John's head away, looking to escape. John manages to hold on to the position though. John trying to control the action but Glass is working from the bottom. Glass knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for John on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John working the ground and pound but Glass is defending the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. John throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. John scores with a couple of short elbows. Glass wants to control but John postures up. John tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no John has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! John working away. Glass pushes John away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, John gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Glass trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Mike John has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! George Glass is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. John fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike John comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Glass has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
