Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myke Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Calavar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Calavar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Calavar!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calavar throws a series of punches but Hawk avoids them all with ease.
Calavar ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Calavar fails to land with a series of punches.
Hawk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Calavar looks to land a combination but Hawk avoids it well.
Calavar stuffs the takedown attempt from Hawk. Hawk gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnny Calavar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawk displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Calavar throws out the jab.
Hawk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Calavar.
Calavar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hawk.

Hawk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Calavar's guard.

Hawk seems to have got his legs back now.
Hawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calavar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Calavar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hawk is controlling him.
Calavar keeping moving, preventing Hawk from controlling successfully.

Calavar wants to stand up but Hawk is controlling him.
Calavar looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Calavar looks to land a combination but Hawk avoids it well.
Calavar misses with a double jab.
Calavar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hawk avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hawk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Calavar pushes Hawk away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hawk gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Johnny Calavar seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hawk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hawk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calavar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hawk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Calavar's guard.
