PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaius Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Caesar 's choice of entrance music: Warriors of the World. Brock Lesnar is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Gaius Julius Caesar !
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Eliza Hachem and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caesar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lesnar feinted with a counter takedown.
Caesar looks to clinch

and Lesnar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Caesar 's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Caesar manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Caesar fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Caesar swings wildly with an uppercut but Lesnar uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lesnar tries for a takedown but Caesar manages to get underhooks.
Caesar pushes Lesnar back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lesnar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Caesar uses from the top position.

Lesnar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Caesar connects with a couple of short punches.

Lesnar uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Caesar is looking to clinch but Lesnar is avoiding it.
Lesnar changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Caesar throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Lesnar counters with a single leg into guard. Caesar didn't expect that.
Lesnar stops Caesar from standing up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Caesar is on top in guard.

Caesar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Caesar is working Lesnar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lesnar is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

and Lesnar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Caesar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lesnar is controlling him.
Lesnar connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caesar is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.
Caesar wants to sweep but no luck.

Lesnar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We've been hearing that Lesnar has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Caesar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lesnar has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Lesnar throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Caesar bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

and Lesnar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Lesnar won't allow Caesar to get back to his feet.
Caesar is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lesnar dives into side control.
Lesnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brock Lesnar dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Caesar wants to clinch

and Lesnar counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lesnar lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lesnar is keen to just control but Caesar is a slippery customer.
Caesar pushes Lesnar off looking to stand but Lesnar dives back in and keeps control.
Brock Lesnar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura but Caesar is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lesnar to get the leverage.
Lesnar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Caesar 's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gaius Julius Caesar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lesnar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caesar walks away with a smile on his face. Lesnar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

so Lesnar counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Still in the clinch, Caesar scores with a nice short uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Caesar looks to land a combination. Lesnar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Caesar moves into the clinch successfully.
Lesnar is trying to pull guard but Caesar has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Lesnar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lesnar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Caesar lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lesnar or not.

Caesar tries to close the distance and clinch but Lesnar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gaius Julius Caesar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Caesar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
