Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronald Reagan! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reagan blocks a low kick nicely. Perry doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Reagan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Perry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Perry misses with a straight left. Perry scores with a crisp jab that stopped Reagan in his tracks.
It looks like Ronald Reagan has been cut. Perry throws a predictable looking body shot
and Reagan counters with a right hand to the body. Perry throws a hook to the side of Reagan's head but Reagan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Perry swings for the body but Reagan moves out of range.
Reagan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Perry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Perry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reagan manages to avoid it. Reagan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Reagan misses with a punch to the body.
Reagan misses with a short punch on the inside. Reagan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Reagan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Reagan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This has been an exciting period of action! Reagan seems to be working for a kimura but Perry defends the submission attempt. Perry has his hands clasped together around Reagan's back. He's all about the action.

Perry is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Reagan pulls his head out easily. Perry punching from the bottom.
Reagan is working for a kimura but Perry is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reagan is working away from the top position though. Reagan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perry is just riding it out for now. Reagan eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reagan is trying to work for a kimura but Perry is defending well.
Reagan is working for a submission of some sort.
Perry is looking for a sweep. Reagan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reagan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Perry could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Reagan has cracked it and Perry is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Reagan!
