Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Scraps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Tub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Scraps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Tub!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Scraps both land. Nice combination.
Scraps stuffs the takedown.

Scraps shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Scraps wants to stand but Tub has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tub being controlled here, momentarily.
Scraps postures up and lands a big shot to Tub's brow.
Tub doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Tub wants to improve his position but instead Scraps has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scraps stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Tub tries to keep at a distance but Scraps has taken the fight into the clinch.

Scraps breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Scraps forces Tub back against the cage and clinches.

Tub drags the fight down to the ground.

Tub working for a triangle but Scraps defends it easily.
Tub trying to keep a closed guard but Scraps is proving a slippery customer.

Scraps stands and steps away. Tub gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Scraps instigates a clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Scraps.
Tub drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tub looks gassed!

Scraps ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Scraps no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tub avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tub looking to sit in guard and control but Scraps gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tub looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tub throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Scraps controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Scraps seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tub for as long as he can get away with.
Tub has momentary wrist control but Scraps slips an elbow through the middle.
Scraps trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Scraps is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Tub is working an open guard so Scraps takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Scraps changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tub looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tub tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Scraps wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Tub tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Scraps presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Tub wants to control but Scraps is having none of it.
Tub really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Tub is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Scraps takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Scraps lands a heavy elbow.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scraps has managed to clinch.
Tub tries for a takedown. No joy.

Scraps pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Scraps scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Tub looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tub is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Scraps scores with a couple of nice shots.
Tub wants to get back to his feet.
Scraps stalling.

Scraps uses his free foot to push down on Tub's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tub.

Scraps is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Scraps gets the takedown into side control.

Scraps is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tub has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tub is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Scraps trying to control the action but Tub is working from the bottom.
Tub tries to roll over but Scraps keeps him under control.
Scraps is just content to waste time from the top position. Tub takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Tub will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scraps avoids the head kick by Tub.
Scraps throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Scraps feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Scraps is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Scraps is tying to control. Tub wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Scraps prevents Tub from standing back up.
Tub is looking to get back to full guard here but Scraps has managed to pass to side control instead.
Scraps cracks Tub with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tub goes for a takedown in the clinch but Scraps prevents it.
Jose Scraps has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Tub.

Scraps pushes Tub off and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tub escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scraps gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Scraps not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Scraps is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Tub escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scraps gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Steve Tub has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scraps would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Tub has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scraps can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scraps stands and steps away. Tub gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Well Scraps has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
