Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Ring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Whiteford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ronnie Whiteford is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Ring! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Whiteford! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whiteford blocks a leg kick. Whiteford looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ring wants to control but Whiteford is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ring on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Whiteford controlling the pace. Ring has one foot on Whiteford's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Whiteford defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ring. Horrible takedown attempt by Ring or perhaps it was just good defense by Whiteford, which made it look bad. Despite the aggression on Whiteford's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Ring tries to clinch but Whiteford moves away and Whiteford counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whiteford with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ring wants to control the position but Whiteford says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Whiteford is thwarting Ring's attempts to control the position. Whiteford looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ring is refusing to be controlled, as Whiteford sits in half guard. Whiteford might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ring haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Whiteford throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Whiteford thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ring's head. Whiteford trying to control the action but Ring is working from the bottom. Still in half guard, Whiteford seems content to control. Whiteford not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ring wants to control the action here but instead Whiteford manages to pass to full mount! Ring tries to improve his position but Whiteford has taken his back! Whiteford has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ring tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Whiteford pushes Ring away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ronnie Whiteford! After the fight, Ronnie Whiteford was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
