PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Paulman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tear the Club Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Randall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Russell Paulman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Paulman enables Randall to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Paulman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Randall connects with a nice short shot to Paulman's temple.
We've been informed that Paulman has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paulman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Randall tries to score with some ground and pound. Paulman controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've been hearing good reports from Randall's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
