Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nikki Dub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Take my hand as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nikki Dub!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Jones!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Dub moves out of range easily.
Dub misses with a double jab.
Dub lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Dub throws a combination that misses

and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dub's guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Dub keeps moving.
Jones's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jones passes Dub's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dub definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Dub defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jones slows the pace down in half guard.

Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
It looks like Jones might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Dub defends it.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Dub is having none of it.

Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dub is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dub and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dub tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.
Jones wants to control but Dub is keeping him busy.

Jones swings around for an armbar but Dub sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jones's guard.
Jones is pulling down on Dub's head to control his posture.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dub is one step ahead there.

Dub wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dub is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Dub is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian Jones dominated that round.
That's time! Dub's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dub tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Dub looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dub dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!

Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dub has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jones keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is working for a kimura but Dub is defending it quite comfortably.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dub is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Brian Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.

Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dub doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Dub keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jones stands up and beckons Dub to join him on the feet.
Dub motions for Jones to come forward. Dub throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Nikki Dub is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dub misses with a looping left.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Dub.
Nikki Dub is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dub throws a lazy head kick
and Jones counters with a nice body kick.
Dub throws a right and a left that both miss.
Brian Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dub looks to land a combination but Jones avoids it well.
Dub avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dub takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Brian Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Dub gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Dub is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dub manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Dub's guard.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Dub is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Jones has hold of Dub's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Dub tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jones cranks the arm and Dub screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Dub, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Brian Jones!
