Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Cameron has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Lashley!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cameron darts in and clinches Lashley up against the cage.
Lashley goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cameron wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lashley has him pressed against the cage.

Lashley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cameron working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lashley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cameron's guard.

Cameron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cameron throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Lashley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lashley won't allow Cameron to sweep him here.
Lashley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cameron could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cameron wants to stand up but Lashley is controlling him.
Cameron pulls Lashley in close to his closed guard and prevents Lashley from doing any damage or advancing position.

Cameron manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lashley manages to get himself to full guard.

Cameron cracks Lashley with a solid left hand.

Cameron might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cameron is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Cameron loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cameron postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Lashley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cameron connects with a couple of short punches.
Cameron scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cameron is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Cameron gets to his feet - Lashley follows without any prompting.
Cameron swats away the attempt to clinch by Lashley.
Lashley clobbers Cameron with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lashley or perhaps it was just good defense by Cameron, which made it look bad.
Lashley looks winded!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cameron enables Lashley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cameron manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cameron uses the cage to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cameron takes a swing at Lashley's ribcage but misses.
Cameron throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lashley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cameron defends well and Lashley ends up having to push Cameron into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cameron scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Check out the look on Cameron's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Cameron lands a few punches from side control.

Cameron decides to stand back up. Cameron steps back and let's Lashley get back to his feet.

Cameron darts in and clinches Lashley up against the cage.

Cameron breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cameron looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Cameron lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
John Lashley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cameron avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cameron throws a solid leg kick but Lashley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cameron.

Cameron forces Lashley back against the cage and clinches.

Cameron decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cameron is on top in guard.

Cameron lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cameron scoring with punches to the head and body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcelo Cameron dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cameron is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lashley has managed to free his arm - good work.

Lashley is breathing heavily.

Cameron is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lashley is trying to maintain the position but Cameron is very close to passing his half guard.
Lashley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cameron scores with a couple of nice shots.

Cameron is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cameron seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lashley is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
