Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alec Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alec Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oliver Woods!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ben Hemmingworth and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Norris clinches up against the cage.

Woods has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Norris is trying to keep an underhook but Woods manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Norris has one foot on Woods's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Norris pushes Woods off and scrambles back to his feet.

Woods throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Norris tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Woods is in Norris's guard.

Norris wants to stand up but Woods is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Norris closes the distance and pushes Woods back into the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Norris takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Woods is trying to push Norris away but Norris has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Norris is pushing Woods up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Woods shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Woods was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Woods wants to stand but Norris has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Woods stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Norris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Norris looking for a guillotine here but Woods defends easily.

Woods wants to stand and escape but instead Norris has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Woods wants to sweep but no luck.
Norris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Norris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Norris moves into range and clinches up with Woods.
Woods lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Norris.

Norris seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Woods is looking to get back to full guard here but Norris has managed to pass to side control instead.

Norris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Woods has Norris pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Woods pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Norris tumbling to the mat - Woods dives into Norris's guard.

Norris has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Woods off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Woods is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alec Norris.

Norris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Norris has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Woods is fighting off a takedown attempt but Norris is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Woods to the mat. Woods regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Woods pushes Norris off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Norris takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Oliver Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Norris tries to clinch but Woods moves out of range.
Norris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Woods paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Norris enables Woods to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Norris stands up over Woods, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Woods takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Norris gets to his feet. Woods looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Woods wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Norris has him pressed against the cage.

Norris will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Woods up against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Norris, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
