PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Don't Mean A Thing. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Hoffman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nelson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hoffman is working away from the top position though. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hoffman working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Hoffman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
