Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Staph Aureus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Boyd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Aureus counter with a right hand.

Aureus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Boyd tries to escape but Aureus is in control.
Boyd is looking for a sweep.
Aureus landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Aureus scores with a couple of short elbows.
Aureus misses with the ground and pound.
Aureus connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Boyd some visible discomfort.
Aureus lands a few punches from side control.
Boyd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boyd tries to bench press Aureus off him but Aureus keeps the position.
Aureus prevents Boyd from escaping the position.

Aureus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aureus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Aureus creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Boyd sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Aureus grinds an elbow into Boyd's temple.
Aureus is working Boyd over with some ground and pound from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyd wants to get back to his feet but Aureus is dominant here and he's now got Boyd's back!
Boyd is trying to stand back up.
Aureus is not going to allow Boyd to sit and survive in this position.
Aureus scores with punches from the back.

Boyd tries to roll but Aureus sticks to his back.
Boyd is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Aureus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Aureus is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Boyd covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aureus is looking for the choke from the back position but Boyd is controlling his hands well.
Aureus is landing with strikes. Boyd can't take much more of this.
Boyd is trying to stand back up.
You can see the frustration on Boyd's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Aureus. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Aureus is punishing Boyd with strikes - can he finish him?!

Aureus has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Boyd is defending well but eventually Aureus manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Boyd has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
