The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryu throws a right hand that Glover ducks under and follows up with a left that Glover also avoids with ease.
Ryu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Glover has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ryu finds it's way round the side to connect with Glover's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Glover lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Glover sends Ryu crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Glover is motioning to the referee to let Ryu up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Glover walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Ryu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
No joy there for Ryu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Glover dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Glover feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ryu sprawling to the canvas! Ryu rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Glover finish him?!

Ryu gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Glover gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

After winning the bout, Gary Glover thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
