Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mad Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max's entrance music is Graveyard Symphony. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mad Max! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Franklin! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Max closes the distance and pushes Franklin back into the cage. Max content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Franklin is looking for a takedown. Max lands with a short shot to the head. Franklin has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Max clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Max is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Max throws a series of punches but Franklin avoids them all with ease. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Max misses with a two punch combination.
A nice side step and Franklin releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Max throws a series of punches but Franklin moves out of range. Franklin looks like he wants to counter punch here. Max throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Franklin. Max misses with a double jab
and Franklin counters by moving into the clinch. Franklin has picked Max up - he's going for a ride! Franklin dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Franklin is trying to work for a kimura but Max is defending well.
Franklin is working for a kimura but Max is defending it quite comfortably.
That's one minute gone in the round. Max pushes Franklin off looking to stand but Franklin dives back in and keeps control.
Franklin wants to work for an arm triangle but Max is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Max tries to kick Franklin off but Franklin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Franklin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Franklin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Max kicks off Franklin and gets to his feet. Max misses with a jab, cross combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Franklin! But no joy. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Franklin checks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Max misses with a series of wild punches.

and Franklin counters with a stiff right hand. Franklin takes a jab right on the kisser.
No joy there for Max, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Max misses with a wild combination.
Franklin tries to counter by closing the distance. Franklin's coach down at LOD: Purpose Training Center™ was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Franklin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mad Max seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Max lands a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Max moves into range and clinches up with Franklin. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Max. Franklin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Max's efforts to push away. Max pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Franklin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Franklin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Max is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Franklin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Max knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Franklin on the ground. Max wriggles free and stands up. Franklin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Max. Max sets himself, and Franklin steps forward looking for the clinch! Max avoids it this time. Franklin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Max.
Franklin tries to counter with a clinch but Max shakes him off and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Max wants to clinch and Franklin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Max won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Franklin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Franklin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Franklin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Max is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James Franklin! In defeat, Mad Max stepped up to the mic, saying 'I precisely prepare for this loss, I put all my best but I got too short. I'll be back, I promise.'.
