Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kiro Kagame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kiro Kagame!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ali Akbar!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akbar feints a jab promting Kagame to slip. Akbar then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kagame slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Kagame fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Akbar delivers a nice body kick.
Akbar avoids the body shot from Kagame.
Akbar unleashes a big counter combination but Kagame bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kagame has his takedown stuffed

and Akbar moves into the clinch.
Akbar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kagame.
Kagame is looking to break free of the clinch but Akbar has double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akbar pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Akbar pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kagame drops back looking for a leg! Akbar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Akbar manages to kick Kagame off! Kagame jumps back into Akbar's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kagame would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Akbar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kagame gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kagame takes a swing at Akbar's ribcage but misses.
Kagame tries to score with a low kick but Akbar moves his leg out of the way.
A combination from Kagame does no damage.
Akbar stuffs the takedown attempt from Kagame. Kagame gets slowly back to his feet.

Kagame changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Akbar fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Akbar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kagame defends well.
Akbar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kagame. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Akbar counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kiro Kagame seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akbar slaps away a takedown attempt from Kagame, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Akbar drives through with a takedown into Kagame's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Akbar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kiro Kagame is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kagame throws a series of strikes that have Akbar backpedaling.
Akbar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kagame stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Akbar swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kagame is fighting to break Akbar's control of his arms but Akbar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ali Akbar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Akbar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
