Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tat Moh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexei Chatzikomninos! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moh throws a half hearted mid kick. Chatzikomninos fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Chatzikomninos lands a nice looking body shot.

It looks like Tat Moh has been cut. Chatzikomninos throws a right and a left that both miss. Moh is looking to counter the offense by Chatzikomninos and move into the clinch. Chatzikomninos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Moh. Moh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chatzikomninos.
Chatzikomninos closes the distance and clinches. Moh presses Chatzikomninos against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Moh lands a hook that snaps the head of Chatzikomninos backwards. Chatzikomninos works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Chatzikomninos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chatzikomninos controlling from the top position. Moh working a defensive guard here.
Chatzikomninos is looking to work some ground and pound but Moh has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chatzikomninos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Moh is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chatzikomninos is fighting to break Moh's control of his arms but Moh is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Chatzikomninos postures up in Moh's guard and throws a big left but Moh blocks it. Moh is looking for a triangle but Chatzikomninos pushes his legs off easily.
Moh has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Moh looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Moh seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Moh looking for a guillotine here but Chatzikomninos defends easily.
Moh lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chatzikomninos is trying to control the position from the bottom.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Moh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Chatzikomninos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chatzikomninos is on top in guard.

Chatzikomninos trying to control the position from guard on top but Moh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Moh seems keen to control Chatzikomninos's posture. Chatzikomninos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Chatzikomninos is in close to Moh's body, working some short punches and elbows. Chatzikomninos trying to control but Moh is working from the bottom. Moh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Moh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chatzikomninos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chatzikomninos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Moh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chatzikomninos stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Moh throws up his legs and catches Chatzikomninos in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Chatzikomninos tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Moh! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Tat Moh! In his post fight interview, Tat Moh gave a big smile as he said 'We are told that talent creates its own opportunities. Yet, it sometimes seems that intense desire creates not only its own opportunities, but its own talents, as well.'.
