Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Furio Bloodstain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Furio Bloodstain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodstain throws a head kick but Stewart moves out of range.
Furio Bloodstain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Bloodstain.
Stewart changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bloodstain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bloodstain stuffs the takedown.
Stewart shoots in looking for a takedown. Bloodstain tries to sprawl out of it but Stewart keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bloodstain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stewart drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stewart passes Bloodstain's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Stewart slows the pace down in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stewart working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Stewart perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Stewart works his way into full mount!
Bloodstain tries to lock up and control but Stewart gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We've been hearing good reports from Bloodstain's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Bloodstain tries to hold on but Stewart postures up.
Stewart fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bloodstain takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Bloodstain tries to lock up and control but Stewart gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
A nice elbow there by Stewart.
Bloodstain is desperately trying to improve his position but Stewart has a good base and remains in mount.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Stewart fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bloodstain is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bloodstain is working hard here to advance position.
Stewart lands a big shot there that rocks Bloodstain but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
A big strike lands for Stewart! That's really hurt Bloodstain and he's turned his back - Stewart keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Stewart jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Stewart!
During a confident post fight interview, Don Stewart thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
