Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noam Chomsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chomsky comes to the cage accompanied by System Of A Down BYOB. Stanson has chosen Until The End as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Noam Chomsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Stanson! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ben Hemmingworth and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanson shoots in but no luck this time. Chomsky feinted there with a counter leg kick. Stanson shoots and misses and Chomsky counters with a stiff right hand. Stanson moves out of range of the body kick from Chomsky.
Stanson shoots in but no luck this time. Noam Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Stanson. Chomsky misses with a body shot.

Stanson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chomsky to the ground. Stanson is now in Chomsky's guard. Stanson wants to stand and escape but instead Chomsky has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Chomsky works a leg free and moves into half guard. Stanson tries to get to full guard but Chomsky has control of the leg. Stanson has his hands clasped together around Chomsky's back. He's all about the action. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stanson is pressing down on Chomsky's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stanson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chomsky is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stanson. Chomsky advances nicely into full mount. Stanson is looking to improve his position but Chomsky isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! Chomsky connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanson swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Stanson is desperately trying to improve his position but Chomsky has a good base and remains in mount. Chomsky looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Stanson is fighting to maintain full guard but Chomsky has managed to sneak the leg through. Chomsky scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Stanson is looking for a sweep. Chomsky is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Stanson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stanson works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stanson has his foot on Chomsky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chomsky works his way back into a safe position though. Chomsky sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chomsky trying to control but Stanson is working from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chomsky accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Stanson wants to sweep here but Chomsky controlling him for the moment. Chomsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Stanson keeping moving, preventing Chomsky from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chomsky scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Stanson doesn't seem bothered though. Stanson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Stanson shoots in looking for a takedown but Chomsky manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stanson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stanson. Stanson misses with a takedown attempt - Chomsky sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Noam Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Stanson. Stanson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chomsky is looking to regain half guard here but Stanson keeps moving and retains side control.

Stanson is working Chomsky over with some ground and pound from side control. Stanson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Chomsky some visible discomfort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanson tries to stand but Chomsky controls the position and pulls Stanson into his guard. Stanson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Stanson wants to pass the guard but Chomsky is keeping the position. Chomsky being controlled here, momentarily. Stanson throws an elbow that misses. Chomsky uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stanson's guard. Nice move by Chomsky! Chomsky trying to control but Stanson is working from the bottom. Stanson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chomsky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Chomsky is really struggling to control Stanson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Chomsky controlling the pace. Stanson is staying active underneath Chomsky, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Stanson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Chomsky tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stanson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stanson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Chomsky keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Chomsky blocks the strikes from Stanson.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stanson fails with the takedown and Chomsky counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Chomsky slaps away a takedown attempt from Stanson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nice sprawl there from Stanson as Chomsky shoots in. Brian Stanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stanson misses with a leg kick and Chomsky counters with a thumping low kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Noam Chomsky will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Stanson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chomsky keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Stanson stalling away here and it's allowed Chomsky to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Noam Chomsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stanson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Stanson looking to pass the guard. Stanson trying to move into half guard but instead Chomsky has managed to sweep!

Chomsky is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Stanson. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Chomsky punches Stanson on the ear. You can see the frustration on Stanson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Noam Chomsky! Noam Chomsky spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
