The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen connects with a high kick.
Hansen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hansen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hansen throws a counter combo.
Northcutt fails to land the takedown.
Hansen looks to land a combination but Northcutt avoids it well.
Northcutt wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Northcutt closes the distance and clinches.

Northcutt is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hansen gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hansen has picked Northcutt up - he's going for a ride! Hansen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Northcutt tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Hansen manages to move to mount!

Hansen lands a couple of good shots and Northcutt has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Hansen is working the ground and pound. Can Northcutt escape?
Northcutt tries to escape but Hansen has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Hansen slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Northcutt is trying to get back to his feet but Hansen has full control of the position and if anything, Northcutt has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Hansen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hansen lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Hansen is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Let's hope that Hansen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Northcutt is trying to stand back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Hansen! Northcutt is out on his feet! Hansen rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Northcutt is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Northcutt is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
