Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams lands with a kick to the temple. Coyoca shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Coyoca counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've been hearing that Coyoca has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Coyoca makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Coyoca won't allow Williams to get back to his feet.
Coyoca keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Williams's head.

Coyoca has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coyoca. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Sydney Fight Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Coyoca gets to his feet and stands over Williams, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Williams felt that one! Coyoca unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Williams from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Allan Coyoca!
